Abstract
The Yvonne Brathwaite Burke papers contain the records of the political activities of Yvonne Brathwaite Burke, University of Southern California Gould Law School alumna, state and federal legislator, and county official. Included are records from Burke's tenure in the California Assembly (1966-1972), U.S. Congress (1973-1978), and the Los Angeles Angeles County Board of Supervisor (1979-1980). Records also include her campaign for California State Attorney General (1978).

The Citizens Committee to Save Elysian Park was founded in 1965 to organize public and official awareness and to raise support to preserve the park land as public open space, and to develop it for recreational activities. The mission and efforts of this vibrant "grass roots" organization are ongoing, and the Committee will continue to add materials which document its activities. This scrapbook contains clippings and plot maps for various real estate locations around Los Angeles including but not limited to Occidental Park, West Adams, Pico and Western, Angelus Vista, Hollywood Heights, West Ninth Street Heights, Palm Place, West Washington Street Tract, Mercantile Place, and Venice Park. Many of the plot maps are stamped to indicate sold lots. The majority of the clippings are notices of lots bought and sold and arranged by street; the clippings are dated.
